The AIA Council
The Agrology Profession Act charges the AIA Council with ensuring that the Institute fulfills its mandate to regulate the practice of agrology in a manner that protects and serves the public interest.
Officials and Committees
The Agrology Profession Act authorizes several officials and committees to carry out specific powers and duties.
- Registration Committee: Makes recommendations about registration requirements, reviews applications and makes recommendations to the Registrar for a decision, assesses applicants’ qualifications to practice within a practice area, conducts practice reviews, and oversees the Continuing Competence Program.
- Registrar: Makes decisions about applications for registration and practice permits.
- Complaints Director: Addresses professional conduct complaints.
- Complaint Review Committee: Evaluates the Complaints Director’s dismissal and settlement of professional conduct complaints.
- Hearings Director: Designates the members of complaint review committees.
- Hearing Tribunals: Hold hearings about professional conduct complaints.
- Hearings Director: Designates the members of hearing tribunals and sets hearing dates.
