Application

Applicants who meet the educational requirements and are practicing agrology, or wish to practice agrology in Alberta, MUST be registered as a professional with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists. Applicants must provide all post-secondary education transcripts with the Registrar’s signature and the post-secondary seal on the transcript. Transcripts without a seal or Registrar’s signature will NOT be accepted. 

Internationally-Educated

If you are internationally-educated, you MUST provide the following:

  • A Course-by-Course WES (World Education Services) assessment OR Specialized IQAS (International Qualifications Assessment Service) assessment of international diploma(s) or degree(s). Please be aware these assessments may take several months.
  • If you are not a Canadian citizen, proof of ability to work in Canada is required - such as a permanent resident card, work permit, visa, etc. (if photocopied or scanned, front and back, colour-preferred).

 

Dual/Transfer

Professional Agrologists, Registered Technologists in Agrology, Agrologists In-Training, Agrology Technologists In-Training who are registered with another agrology institute in Canada and are practicing agrology, or intend on practicing agrology in Alberta, are eligible for dual or transfer registration with AIA.

 

Visiting

Professional Agrologists, Registered Technologists in Agrology who are registered with another agrology institute in Canada can apply to be a visiting member practicing agrology in Alberta. Applicants should apply a minimum of 30 days prior to desiring a visiting category as the review for visiting registration may take up to 30 days before approval.
