Registration renewal for 2025 takes place from October 1st to December 31st for the following year. Therefore, annual registration fees for the next calendar year are due on or before December 31st of the current year.

Practice Area Exam Fee

The Institute is developing technical exams for specific practice areas. Each exam has a $750.00 fee plus GST. Currently the Crop Production practice area has an exam. Exam types I, II are available and exam type III will be available January 2024 for the Assessment, Remediation and Management of Contaminated Lands practice area. Each exam type will be $250 plus GST.

The exams must be written at the AIA office in Edmonton. In special cases an alternate location may be established to write the exam in other areas of the province. Special protocols will be required for these alternate locations.

Professional Ethical Competency Course

Course fee $100.00 (GST exempt)
Exam fee $900.00 (GST exempt)*

Refunds will be granted for the Ethics course and exam but a $100 administration fee will be assessed for all refunds.
